We posted our credo at the beginning of this social media journey, but here’s a reminder of it! ![]()
We Believe:![]()
- Teaching is a lifelong learning process. We respect and support teachers at all stages of their professional development.
- The rural teacher is just as important as the urban teacher.
- It is important for teachers to cooperate with other music educators in the community.
- The teacher’s role includes promoting the value of music in the lives of students, their families and the community.![]()

If you're a member, you get access to our private Facebook group, where we share pertinent information and remind you of upcoming events, and there are also regular conversations about teaching. If you have a question, or if you have expertise in a certain area, you can help out another teacher! It's a great community, and a really fun resource to have as an APTA member. If you're not yet a member, it's about time to become one and take advantage of all our amazing resources!

There are a number of scholarships available to APTA members! It's a great reason to get involved, and new members have found that, though scholarships may have been the initial draw, they have found a wealth of resources in being part of APTA. ![]()
Our featured scholarship today is the Alberta Nerbas Memorial Scholarship. This is for a first time conference attendee (get excited for the conference!), and consists of $200 towards the conference and reimbursement of your annual membership fee ($45). So, you can become a member for free and get money towards our annual conference -- what's not to love? Applications are due July 15th, and all the information is on our website (aptaonline.net). If you have any questions, email us or send a message! We're always happy to help.
