Did you know that we have a private Facebook group for our APTA members, where you can ask questions, share exciting things, answer questions from other members, build community, and connect with teachers from all over Alberta (and beyond)! There have been a lot of interesting questions and posts in the group recently, including an exciting donation from a retired teacher (if you're a member, check the group for a wealth of affordable music books and resources), questions about specific needs for students, exciting upcoming concerts, how to prepare students for exams, tech suggestions, and more. What kinds of resources are offered by APTA? Do we have a list for you!Throughout the year, we have webinars, coffee chats, events, workshops, and more, where you can connect with fellow teachers, present your ideas, and learn from those around you! We have these throughout Alberta, at varying times throughout each month. We have an annual conference, an annual festival connected with APTA -- more opportunities for connections, for performance opportunities for your students, chances to volunteer, and a chance to grab some great music resources! We have a newsletter that goes out quarterly, with reminders about upcoming events and deadlines, along with articles by our very own members - we love getting submissions from teachers so that we can all learn from each others' expertise!Connections, professional development, and a kind and encouraging community are some of the best parts of APTA - you can feel like you're not alone in your pursuits, be inspired by those around you, and learn so much from teachers in all sorts of situations. We have teachers in APTA who have been teaching for 30+ years, new teachers, a variety of ages, and so many different specialties! There's so much to enjoy when you're a member of APTA. ...
